Skies of Ticivorna
Over a week has passed since my last entry. I was just too absorbed in my first alchemy project and my studies to write one down. It was just a simple brew, some healing potions. I aced them of course. Good to know that I’ve still got it.
Last week began with Breaker picking a fight with Captain Ahab, one of the swarthiest punks in the guild. Stormsail seems to have no regard for his own safety. And it seems like when I try to hold him back it only makes things worse. I don’t see any point in trying to put a leash on Robert because he will just, well, break it. I put a bit of money on him to win, but mostly to be supportive of him. The fight was entertaining, at least, though Breaker was demolished. Captain Ahab can perform some incredible moves with his peg leg and three good limbs. Shame he wouldn’t have time to teach me some acrobatics.
We had to wait an extra week in Hammerfall for Breaker to heal up. I was not pleased at all about his foolhardiness causing to eat in to our drafty coffers, but I took my mind off the matter with alchemy. As I sit here with two gleaming red potions in my hand, I realize that my profession requires long hours away from the crew. I had just temporarily assumed a sort of leadership role with them. But if they barely ever see me, how can I gain their trust? How can I lead? This is a delicate balancing act for sure.
